Isle Royale Trips
I will not be running dive charters to Isle Royale for the 2023 season.
Non-Isle Royale Trips
I am eight years into a five-year adventure to circum-navigate the Great Lakes. In 2016 we circum-navigated Lake Superior. In 2017 we cruised across Lake Superior through the Soo Locks and St. Mary's River and spent most of the season exploring Lake Huron. Near the end of the season we cruised through the St. Clair River and Lake St. Clair and the Detroit River into Lake Erie where I wintered the boat in Fairport Harbor, Ohio. In 2018 we cruised across lake Erie, through the Welland Canal to Lake Ontario then around the south shore of Lake Ontario, 30 miles up the St. Lawrence Seaway and back. We then took the Trent Seavern Waterway back to Lake Huron and completed the loop back to Fairport Harbor, Ohio for the winter. In 2019 through 2022 we have been circling the lakes wintering in Fairport Harbor, Ohio. This year we will make our way back to Lake Superior. These trips are a mix of shipwreck hunting, boat cruising, fishing, diving, and shooting shipwreck photogrammetry projects. Shipwreck hunting trips usually don't involve much diving other than an occasional sled ride to search a near shore site. Sometimes these are coupled with some long boat cruises to move the boat to or from place to place. The trips are leisurely "split expenses and work" trips so the prices are lower, but you might have to do dishes or help hoist the side scan. Group size is much smaller usually two to five total. I will keep the status of these trips updated on the calendar page so you can see what is available. The planned route is on the Circum-Navigation page and the tentative schedule is on the Season Calendar tab.
